Fact is, the cost of the everyday goods we buy actually costs a few percentage points more because we’re paying by means of information technology (e.g. credit cards & debit cards). In some ways, much like inflation, fees from Visa, Mastercard, etc., are actually a silent tax that rarely, if ever, gets discussed by mainstream media.

So if we can find businesses who are willing to give us a 5% discount for paying cash, it’s a win-win for both consumers and business owners by cutting out the middleman (e.g. disintermediation).
