Finally… a weather event worthy of the phrase snowpocalypse!
I wasn’t a big fan using the phrase snowpocalypse because I thought it was overused and had too much of a hype quality, but when rare events like 49 of 50 states have snow on the ground, an event such as this might actually be worthy of such a buzzword since so many states are caught off guard.
For example, PBS NewsHour reported:
The city of Atlanta received 7 inches of snow, but only has 8 snow plows.
The weird thing — no one knows for sure just how rare of an event this is. That should give you some indication of its rarity.
Totally! I suffered though an Atlanta like event when I was living in North Carolina where 3-4″ of ice fell in half a day. Everyone wigged out, power was out for a week, grocery stores sold out of bread & water in a day, etc.
Our pharma plant had backup generators out the wazoo, so we camped out in the cubicles. Was kinda fun to be honest.

As a Canadian, this made me laugh:
The city of Atlanta received 7 inches of snow, but only has 8 snow plows.
Are you kidding!?!?!? :) So cute. I love it when people freak out over an inch of snow, let alone 7 inches.
