I never suspected I would be called a techie or a geek for having a Twitter account by so many, but for all of those who sent me private emails asking:

• What the heck is a Twitter?
• Why would I need a micro-blogging program when I already use instant messenging?

I have a few answers for you. 

Techwriter David Pogue makes a nice series of instructional or “how to” videos for the NY Times, and did quick 3 minute video for you Twitter haters out there.

If you want to sign up for Twitter, I recommend you also download a small program like Twhirl or Tweetdeck since they are similar to an instant messenger program and give you Tweet updates in real time. 

I’m no where near a posting addict (yet?), but I generally make a post once or twice a day.
