It’s been nearly six months since Steadfast Finances was launched, and I’m pleased to say we surpassed the 100 reader mark a few weeks ago.
When I began this little adventure, it was more of an experiment to post financial advice or financial news that I felt was beneficial to my friends, family, and anyone else looking for a quick answer from a Google search. So when someone I knew asked a question, I would fish out a web address from my files and drop them an email with a link saying “read this”.
Now it’s become more of a quest to help as many people as possible by giving out as many personal finance and investing tips as they come up.
With that in mind, I would like to ask a few questions of you – the readers.
What articles do you value the most?
- Do you prefer stock market related topics? I try to avoid individual stock picking here at SF, but are there market sectors or broad market themes that you want covered?
- Do we need more basic personal finance topics covered? There are many exceptional personal finance blogs that cover the basics, so it’s really a niche area that I have purposely omitted.
- What are you thoughts upon the bargain hunting articles thus far? I try to pick out the bargains that mainstream media seems to miss, but are you satisfied with what I’ve covered so far?
- Would you like more financial planning 101 type articles? I’m not a financial planner, but the basic concepts such as saving for retirement or saving for your kid’s college education via a 529 plan aren’t topics I’ve discussed that often because they’re regularly discussed elsewhere. Should this change?
- Any other “X factor” articles that I’m missing? If I’ve left something out that you think SF needs that I’ve neglected to cover, please let me know.
I’m always a quick email or Tweet away (aka – Matt_SF), so don’t hesitate to contact me. And yes, I finally broke down and signed up for Twitter.
